Technical Information
A good apolar aprotic solvent. A useful 'building block' reagent mainly used to produce vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) and as a precursor for PVC production.1 Also applied as an intermediate in the production of various organic compounds such as ethylenediamine.2,3,4 Recently used as a swelling agent for preparation of large size carboxyl crosslinked polystyrene microspheres.5
